I began by exploring the band Gorillaz, whose distinctive art style I was drawn to, and I knew I wanted to create my own version of it. I started with a rough sketch as a base, then brought it into Procreate to refine the illustration and add colour. I chose red as the dominant colour to evoke urgency and a sense of doom, while the green background reflects a post-apocalyptic world—echoing the band’s strong environmental advocacy. Once the illustrations were finished, I turned my focus to the typography, selecting edgy fonts to enhance the overall atmosphere. Experimenting with an engaging layout by arranging it into three columns to make it more digestible for readers. Ultimately, the spread came to life, with the colours, illustrations, and typography merging to create a vivid, wasteland-inspired design.
