To create a poster for the band The Last Dinner Party, I listened to their album and chose one song to focus on. To capture the essence of the song, I sketched a woman in a corset, with her liver glowing to reflect the themes of the track. After refining the sketch, I decided against a more polished look, as it didn’t quite match the band’s aesthetic. Instead, I embraced messy lines for the body, using a lilac corset to symbolize innocence, and a red liver to evoke blood and messiness.
For the background, I drew and shaded flowers inspired by 15th-century tapestries, using them to reinforce the song’s themes. The typography was chosen to evoke royalty, while also maintaining a sense of freedom to complement the overall mood. The design effectively tells the story the band conveys through their music.
